A Big Happy Birthday wish to my sweet 13 year old! I am so lucky to have such a great son! There are so many reasons why Connor is so special, but I just want to share a few....He's a loving brother and son.....He's sensitive and thinks of others first....He's Mister GQ and loves his hair!!! (Not necessarily one of Rod or my favorite characteristics!)He can be the life of the party! He has such an excitement for life and likes to share that with others! He's got a good imagination! He's a great friend! He likes to try new things......He's got your back when you need him most....He's very athletic and likes to try as many sports as possible.....He even will run a triathlon with Strep throat and not complain....He could spend all day at the beach in the water....He's always on the look out for something new to learn....He's very competitive and likes to win.....He doesn't often sit still.....He loves his name and hates when anyone spells it with an "er"....He is such an asset to our family and we love him very much!

Whistler, BC

Our trip to Whistler was wonderful. We stayed in a fabulous hotel and were completely pampered with yummy breakfasts and delicious hot chocolate by a cozy warm fireplace. We had so much fun. A big thanks goes to Cindi for letting us borrow her car to get from Seattle to Canada. An even bigger Thanks goes to my Mom and Dad for taking such great care of the kids. You are real Troopers and we love you Very Much!!This was the view on our walk from our hotel to Whistler Village! Gorgeous!!Whistler Village was so full of life, we loved being a part of the fun atmosphere. This was the view from our hotel window. We were right at the base of the slopes and could literally pick up our skis and walk out the door of the hotel right to the lifts. It was great! The view as we skied down! Breath-taking!My fourth attempt at skiing in my entire life! Needless to say, I'm not very good. There are no pictures of Rod skiing because I couldn't stand on my skis and take a picture without falling down! Here I come, snowplowing all the way! (Parents, teach your kids to ski while they are young so they don't have to suffer this humiliation!)
I even got in a hot tub! (This is not my favorite thing, but I sacrificed for Rod's sake.)

We had such a great time. We highly recommend this destination! Thanks again to everyone who made it possible!!!

Our visit with Jayden and Jackie

While we were in Seattle we were able to see my nephew, Jayden and his Mom, Jackie. I hadn't seen him in person since he was about 7 months old, so it was so great to see them both.Rob and Cindi made a yummy dinner.Jayden had been really sick, so he didn't really eat much. Finally we got him to eat some crackers and string cheese. I think Jackie was relieved to see him finally eat something. (You can see in his eyes and how red his nose is that he didn't feel good.)Although he was still not feeling that great, he did have his moments where he had some energy. He was really excited to help Cindi wash the dishes. It was a rainy Sunday, so there wasn't much to do. It was especially hard to find something for a 3 year old in a house where only adults live, but we had a great time playing Mario Kart on the Gamecube and also playing games on the internet.I was so glad that Jayden wasn't scared of me. Even though he was feeling bad, he sat with me and even let me wipe his little runny nose. (He doesn't even let his mom do that!)He had us all laughing with his funny faces! We loved his cute little smile and personality. At one point we brought over a box of kleenex and he started wiping his own nose. He then started pulling out the tissues one after another. We were all cracking up, which of course made him do it more. Needless to say Jackie was not too thrilled with this activity!
He is such an adorable little boy. I loved getting to spend a little time with him. I really hope we can get him and Parker together. I think that they would have a blast! (Everytime Parker sees Jayden's picture, he says "That's Parker?".) Being so close in age, I hope one day they'll be good friends.
A Big, Big Thank you to Jackie for rearranging her work schedule so that Rod and I could see her and Jayden! We love you both and are soooo glad to have you in our lives!!!

Hanging with Cindi and Rob

After a wonderful dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant, that is a favorite of Cindi and Rob's, we headed over for a fun time at the downtown Safeway! Cindi thinks it is fabulous! I was very impressed with the "Nut Bar" and Produce! (I'm thinking we all must be a bunch of nuts!)
The next day we headed to the slopes. We went skiing at Crystal Mountain, right by Mt. Rainer. Since this was my 3rd time ever skiing, it was rough going. Cindi was very patient. I don't know if I'll ever love skiing, but I am determined to learn so we can go as a family.

It snowed all day. Which I loved because I felt more comfortable in the powdery stuff!
Rob made such a sacrifice for us. His knee had really been hurting, but of course he did great. He got sick of my whining and whimping out, but who could blame him. He and Cindi really are great teachers! I'm just a big CHICKEN!
Cindi is such a great sister. Aside from spending most of the day on the slopes with me, she slept on the couch for three nights so Rod and I could have her bed! To top it all off, she let us drive her car up to Whistler!
Thanks Cindi and Rob!!
We had a GREAT time!!

Halle's First Dance Competition This Year

Halle performed in her first competition this Dance Season this weekend. She did a Trio on Friday to the Cheetah Girls "Shake Your Tail Feathers". It was her first time performing in a small group and the three of them did great. They got first place, which meant they got their very own trophy and tiara and sash! Miss Caitlin is awesome! The girls love working with her and she is so sweet to them.Halle's team performed another dance to the Chipmunks' "Witch Doctor". Their production number is to "I won't grow up". They did such a great job on all the dances.

I was so proud of Halle. She continues to to improve every week!
