UEA Wrap up

You can tell how much time I had while at my parents! I haven't had one second in almost two weeks to finish up our weekend activity.

We had an exciting game of Hide-n-Seek(Snap). That is where you play hide-n-seek in teams of two. Once the seekers find a team they take a picture of them in their hiding place.

Dad and Wesley put their bread making skills to the test and made this yummy Spice Wreath. Way to go you two.

Monday, Dad took the kids fishing. Unfortunately, they didn't catch anything, but they had a great time fishing with Grandpa!

Before we left town we headed over to the hospital to have lunch with Grandma. Thanks Mom and Dad for a great weekend. We love you very much!!

On our way home we stopped by to see "our" dog, Tuck. We miss him, but are so glad he has such a good home with Lance's sister and her husband. They have been wonderful to him and to us. We are so glad we can stop by and see him any time. It's great for the kids to be able to see how well cared for he is.

UEA in Rexburg - Day 3

After an early, and I mean early, Sacrament Meeting, (Who starts church at 8:30 am? Ugh!) we headed home for a very long day of entertaining kids! I am sure you know what I mean. If you are like us and try to make Sunday a little different than the rest of the week, it proves to be very difficult to keep everyone from killing each other! Well, I am happy to say that we were, for the most part, successful.

This afternoon, after several wrestling matches and train races, we finally put the DI costumes together. The results weren't too shabby considering we spent less than $20. I was impressed that all the kids played along, even Wesley.

Halle chose to be a cheetah. Thanks to Grandma's handy sewing skills, she made a tail and ears from the lining and hem of the shirt. Pretty cute for $2.

Parker was a baseball player with his hat and coat costing $5.

Mr. Creative, Connor, wanted to be a human dartboard. So for $3, he magically transformed. I am sure his Dad wishes he were here so he could practice throwing a couple of darts!

For $1 for the sunglasses (the rest of his costume was borrowed from Grandma and Grandpa), Wesley isn't what he appears!

"Do you want to buy a watch?!?"

Braden bought the pumpkin head and catchers helmet for $5 and became the "Headless Baseball Player"!

All in all it was a fun and interesting activity. It was fun to see imaginations at work. Thanks Grandma for encouraging us!

UEA in Rexburg - Day 2

Today we decided to head to Idaho Falls for lunch and then to check out the Falls. (I didn't know there actually was a waterfall?!?) My Mom had challenged the kids to find a costume at DI for under $5, so after the Falls we headed over to DI. We were going to go to the Museum after that to see the Pharoah exhibit, but I think our trip to DI wore us all out. We ended up coming home and hanging out the rest of the day.

I am grateful that I do not have to shop at DI on a regular basis!

Grandma and I have gotten a little carried away with Thomas the Train. Parker is having so much fun with his new toys that we just couldn't resist!

Costumes... to be continued... tomorrow!

UEA in Rexburg - Day 1

We are so grateful to be here with Grandma and Grandpa!

Today is day one in Rexburg. I woke up at 7am this morning after getting over 8 hours of sleep! I ran 3 miles and after getting cleaned up went over to do a session in the Rexburg Temple. It was neat to have my Dad there as one of the workers. The temple is very small, but very beautiful.

This afternoon, while Dad and Wes went golfing, the rest of us headed over to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather!

Grandpa, Grandma and Halle made bread bowls for our soup dinner! They were very yummy!

This is what the boys did all day, unless we physically pried them away to have some real fun! Usually they were all three on their own computer, but I wouldn't let them have mine this afternoon. At one point I decided for every hour they were sitting in front of the computer, they would have to go out and run around the block! (That didn't go over too well.) They even got Grandpa to try it out!!!

We finished the day off with a rousing game of Mexican Train! Grandma was so excited to win!

All in all it was a fun day. The only thing that would have made it better would be if Rod had been here. Oh well! Now that the little ones are in bed, I think I'll take a moment to enjoy a good book.
