We had fun putting on a "little" fireworks show of our own. Okay, so it was no Stadium of Fire, but the kids had fun anyway!!!Wesley had fun being "in Charge" of lighting the fireworks!
What's the Fourth without Sparklers!?!
They are fun for all ages!!

It was scary at first, but Parker got the hang of it!

Jayden liked them too!
Darn it! Out so Soon??
SO CUTE!!
We hope you all had a safe and happy Fourth of July!!

Freedom Arts Festival

On Fourth of July weekend, we headed downtown to the Arts Festival. Suprisingly we had ALL the kids with us! Believe me, that is a rare thing in this house!! It was fun to have the kids all to ourselves for a few hours. After a quick stop at the office for some cold drinks, we headed over to check out the sights.

Oh man!! So cute!!!

The kids wanted to ride all of the rides, but of course just getting to ride on one ride was expensive!!

Halle was having so much fun!!

The older boys even had a little fun!!

Over so soon?!?

Parker and Jayden had fun sliding down the slide, it was just really hard to climb up the HOT ladder.

Whee!!

There was a great section set up where the kids could make some crafts. They had fun making the rocket balloons and the squishy balloons.

Checking out the Teepee and the Chief.

The Fire Department had their safety trailer there. The kids went on a tour to learn how to be safe. At the end, they had to "escape" from a fire by climbing down the ladder. For a little kid, it was a long ways down, but they each did great!!

They loved checking out the red truck! Afterwards, the older boys convinced Rod to take us out to lunch!! (Believe me, that doesn't happen often.) It was a great start to a fun holiday weekend!!

Some Summertime fun!!

So the summer has just flown by so far!! It's hard to believe it is half-way over! The little kids haven't wasted much time. Here are some of the things that they have been keeping busy doing... Playing Dress-up. Halle, Payton, Parker and Jayden.

Rod cut down a laurel bush in our back yard, and Parker and Jayden made it their personal mission to spread the branches and leaves all over the backyard!!
At least they had tons of fun doing it!!

Connor pulled out our 'little' pool for the kids to play in. It's amazing how they can entertain themselves no matter what!!

These two crack me up. Give them a hose with running water and they will be entertained for hours! Give them two hoses so they don't have to share and the fun could go on for days! The older kids weren't too thrilled when they boys sprayed water directly into the front door. Because I was at work and didn't have to clean it, I thought it was kind of funny!
So that is just a few things that the kids have been doing to keep themselves entertained. Thankfully they don't require much to have a little fun!

Some things I missed!

So some how I missed these pictures when I went on my latest blogging spree. I just didn't feel right to leave them out. We had so much fun, I wanted to remember these moments. We went to a carnival at a local outdoor mall when Rod and the boys were at Zions Camp. I came so close to winning a $2000 shopping spree, but alas it was not meant to be.The kids loved getting their faces painted. We had to take some pictures so that Dad could see.Halle really wanted to keep hers on, but with Sunday the next day, I didn't think it would be appropriate to wear them to church! Also, while we were at my parents, before everyone else got there, we went to the Farmers Market. It was so great. The kids got to plant a seed and make a decoration to go into the cup. They loved it!

Then we headed over to the Fire Station.
I loved this picture. They are waiting in line for the chance to shoot a fire hose. I love the excitement on their faces!

Halle did great all on her own. They had a cone set up with something on the top that you were supposed to spray off with the water.

Halle loved it!! Maybe she'll be a fire fighter some day!!

Parker was so excited to have a turn.

Good job Buddy!!

Then we checked out the fire trucks and an ambulance.

The kids loved climbing aboard this truck. I was terrified someone was going to knock them over the edge.

What cute kids!!!

No fear!!

Thanks for the sno cones Grandma and Grandpa! Mom will never buy them for us!!

Time to water our new plants! Thanks for the fun time G&G. We love you both!!
