On Fourth of July weekend, we headed downtown to the Arts Festival. Suprisingly we had ALL the kids with us! Believe me, that is a rare thing in this house!! It was fun to have the kids all to ourselves for a few hours.
After a quick stop at the office for some cold drinks, we headed over to check out the sights.

The kids wanted to ride all of the rides, but of course just getting to ride on one ride was expensive!!

Parker and Jayden had fun sliding down the slide, it was just really hard to climb up the HOT ladder.

There was a great section set up where the kids could make some crafts. They had fun making the rocket balloons and the squishy balloons.

The Fire Department had their safety trailer there. The kids went on a tour to learn how to be safe. At the end, they had to "escape" from a fire by climbing down the ladder. For a little kid, it was a long ways down, but they each did great!!
They loved checking out the red truck! Afterwards, the older boys convinced Rod to take us out to lunch!! (Believe me, that doesn't happen often.) It was a great start to a fun holiday weekend!!
